My name is Ru and I`m the founder of Better Food Mood, a health and wellness brand for adaptogen blends. I started my brand almost 3 years ago from a tiny room in my home with nothing but passion, self belief and wanting to make a difference in the world.
I wanted to do something worthwhile in my life that I actually enjoyed doing and would help people better their lives. No matter whom I told about my dream, I was shut down and told it wouldn`t work.
It didn`t matter. After years of learning that people look at the world through their own lens of limiting beliefs, it was very clear in my mind that I had to trust my gut.
3 years later, I have sold over 10,000 products, I now have my own commercial space, I`m supporting 3 charities and I receive so many messages about how my products have helped people with their wellness. And, I have done this all on my own.
My life is far from perfect, there`s still so much I want to achieve but the foundation has been laid. 6 out of 7 days are a struggle but what would life be without the ups and downs.
This is my message, not just to all those who are dreaming of starting something but also to all the little girls (and women) out there, let no one tell you what you`re capable of. Show them what you are capable of.
Whether on the pitch or in business, success isn`t just about talent - it`s about resilience, dedication and building your reserve of self belief. Without self belief, I wouldn`t even have lasted a day.
I hope this inspires the next generation, whether you are building a brand or training to be part of the England squad, the same rules apply. Dream, Believe, Act Consistently and Conquer.

It`s the month of love and that means Valentine`s Inspired breakfast ❤️ because love is also about self love and romanticising life every way we can, right?
I prepared this healthy breakfast that has beetroot for the red colour and added ginger powder because these two are made for each other ❤️
Beets are a very healthy vegetable and are thought to be great for brain and digestive health. They also have betalains that are anti-inflammatory.
Recipe:
50g oats
1/4 beetroot grated
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 banana
Water to cook
Cook for 2-3 minutes until ready.
Garnish with strawberries, blueberries, grapes and @betterfoodmood Omega seed mix.
I tried to make a heart with the seeds too ☺️ can you see it or was it in vain?

Here`s the answer to your question. I didn`t add any sweetener and yet it still tasted yum. But you can always add honey/maple syrup.
Only four ingredients for this mushroom matcha latte:

This beautiful golden blend comprising of ashwagandha, turmeric, ginger, spices and magnesium is one of my favourite blends. So much so that it was pivotal in starting Better Food Mood. I`m only just launching it now because I wanted it to be perfect.
I first discovered this Ayurvedic Moon Milk recipe over 8 years ago as I was struggling with insomnia, stress and anxiety - mainly because of that entrepreneurial life.
🌜 Moon milk has been used in Ayurveda to aid with relaxation and sleep for generations. It comprises of Ashwagandha, spices and milk. Over the last 8 years, I adapted it to make it taste even better. I do have another two flavours for those who don`t like Turmeric.
I`m all about combining all the good stuff - old with new - nature`s goodness that has been passed down from generation to generation in various cultures around the world along with modern science discoveries - hence this blend features magnesium to make it more potent.
Here`s a mindful way to prepare it. I`m going for a traditional take on this to honour its roots 💛🕉️
(As it`s veganuary, I used oat milk. Traditionally, it`s prepared with dairy milk. Feel free to use the milk of your choice)

A few mindful moments from this week 🌼
Unlike most people, I worked through Christmas and New years and then decided to book an impulsive holiday while everyone was going back to work 🙈
Honestly, this time off was long overdue. I had such a wonderful holiday, took in the much needed Vitamin D and Sea, lots of pampering and cleared a mental block (But ofcourse, I spent one day planning 2025 strategy by the sea ☺️)
While I was out there, I listened to a wonderful podcast about the "let them" principle. I had actually been thinking about this for a while but from a "let it go" perspective - about things we can`t control that can sabotage our happiness and in turn our energy to be more productive.
This "let them" principle feels so much stronger than the "let it go" principle. What is it? When someone does or says something that puts you down, tell yourself "let them". It allows you to rise above the situation, detach from the emotion and be the bigger person. But you don`t stop there, you then "let me". Let me decide what to do about this - I choose how I respond, think, what action I take; and this is all the power one needs over something they can`t control to be happy and grounded.
With "let it go", it feels like you are giving your power away; with "let them", you are maintaining your power and finding a solution.
It sounds like common sense I know, but this is a practical and easy way to put the common sense to use.
I`ll be implementing this principle in my life this year with awareness and invite you to do the same 🌼🌞🌼

While I was out there, I listened to a wonderful podcast about the "let them" principle. I had actually been thinking about this for a while but from a "let it go" perspective - about things we can`t control that can sabotage our happiness and in turn our energy to be more productive.
This "let them" principle feels so much stronger than the "let it go" principle. What is it? When someone does or says something that puts you down, tell yourself "let them". It allows you to rise above the situation, detach from the emotion and be the bigger person. But you don`t stop there, you then "let me". Let me decide what to do about this - I choose how I respond, think, what action I take; and this is all the power one needs over something they can`t control to be happy and grounded.
With "let it go", it feels like you are giving your power away; with "let them", you are maintaining your power and finding a solution.
It sounds like common sense I know, but this is a practical and easy way to put the common sense to use.
I`ll be implementing this principle in my life this year with awareness and invite you to do the same 🌼🌞🌼

This year, I donated a total of £1,000 from the sales made from @betterfoodmood. The final part of this, £250, went to @sufranwlondon this Christmas which contributed to the Christmas hampers for the children.
Whilst most people splurge on Christmas, did you know there are some who may not necessarily receive anything because of their circumstances?
This £250 went towards beautiful Christmas hampers kindly organised by @sufranwlondon for children from families facing difficulties.
I want to thank several of you who supported my business this year and it`s because of you wonderful folks that this was possible. Better Food Mood is simply the vessel through which this is done, but it is because of you that a child possibly had a greater moment of happiness this Christmas 🎈
