Ashwagandha Stress Relief Chocolate and Coconut Overnight Breakfast Oats – Ashwagandha Recipes – Easy Breakfast Recipes
As it gets hotter in the UK with the heatwave, it’s becoming harder to eat cooked oats. I do love my cooked oats but now is the perfect weather to enjoy those overnight oats.
I am not a fan of eating cold breakfast after waking up. A warm breakfast tends to have that sort of warmth and comfort I require in the early morning, but with temperatures at 31 degrees Celsius in London, I really struggled with my oats breakfast today. Hence, I prepared an overnight oats breakfast for tomorrow.
I made these Ashwagandha chocolate overnight oats and call them stress relief breakfast oats because Ashwagandha is thought to have stress relief properties.

Ashwagandha has a bitter taste and I don’t really like its smell. The best way to cover this up is with chocolate! Yes, I love everything about chocolate. I used raw cacao powder which is super healthy compared to cocoa powder.
I also added coconut to get that bounty chocolate kind of taste. Who here loves bounty? Raise your hands! I love bounty and I just feel that the combination of chocolate and coconut goes so well together. I could still taste the ashwagandha powder in these oats as they had a slightly bitter taste to them but I much rather eat my ashwagandha powder this way than on its own.
These chocolate overnight breakfast oats are not vegan as I used greek yoghurt, semi-skimmed milk and honey but you can make them vegan by replacing the yoghurt with vegan yoghurt, the milk with coconut milk and the honey with maple syrup. Adding coconut milk to these ashwagandha breakfast oats is actually better as it gives it a coconut flavour boost.
I also added chia seeds to these ashwagandha breakfast overnight oats as chia seeds are full of so many essential nutrients and they also give the chocolate oats a great creamy texture and can keep you fuller for longer. These ashwagandha breakfast oats are great for weight loss too.
Ashwagandha powder is known to increase physical strength in athletes and if you’re consuming these chocolate ashwagandha oats for fitness purposes, feel free to add protein powder as well.
Note that these ashwagandha breakfast oats would be enough for me using a measurement of 1/4 cup. Double these measurements if you eat more. I generally tend to add fruit as well which fills me up. For garnishing, I added strawberries, banana and blueberries to these overnight oats the next morning.
For 1/2 a portion 😀 (enough for me!)

1/4 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp chia seeds

1 tbsp raw cacao powder
2 tbsp greek yoghurt (or vegan yoghurt)

Mix all the ingredients and keep in the fridge overnight.
In the morning, your oats and chia seeds will have absorbed the milk.
