Fruit Punch Ginger Ale Mocktail for Beating the UK Heatwave
I cannot believe that I would live to see the day when the UK would have temperatures of upto 37 degrees Celsius. I just went out for a little walk, and honestly, my skin was burning. I felt as though I had just been placed in an oven!
It’s so hot and we need to keep hydrated! One of the fun ways of doing this are fruit punch mocktails! I used strawberries, kiwi fruit and pineapple for the fruits and ginger ale for the soft drink. You can also use sprite or lemonade.
It’s a very simple mocktail recipe but you do need to prepare the fruity ice before hand.
What is special about this fruit punch mocktail compared to other recipes out there?
Well, the fruit is actually frozen in the ice and it just looks so exotic! Yes! I froze the fruit within the ice. You do need to make these ice cubes in advance so that you have them ready for when you want to make your fruit punch ginger ale mocktail.
You can also serve this mocktail to your friends and family and they would be super impressed!
INGREDIENTS:
1 tbsp of chopped kiwi fruit
1 tbsp of chopped pineapple
1 tbsp of chopped strawberries
Water for the ice cubes
Ginger ale
Brown sugar for the rim
1 strawberry for garnishing
METHOD:
For the fruit ice cubes:
The day before you are planning on making this fruit punch mocktail, you need to prepare your fruit ice cubes.
Simply chop up the fruits as per the ingredients above. Mix them in water and pour them into your ice trays.
The fruits will harden within the ice like magic. And Voila! You’ll have strawberry ice, pineapple ice and kiwi fruit ice. Everyone will think you are a genius!
I wanted to make this mocktail extra special so I thought I would add brown sugar along the rim of the glass. Just like in the bars 😀
It’s very easy! Wet the rim of your glass with water.
Pour brown sugar into a plate.
Turn your glass upside down and rub the rim into the sugar.
The sugar will stick to the glass! You can use so many other ingredients instead of sugar such as sprinkles or coconut flakes.
Add the fruity ice you had prepared above to your glass.
Pour the ginger ale over your ice.
And garnish with a strawberry. You can also garnish with a pineapple or whatever fruit catches your fancy. Feel free to add mint leaves too for a splash of green.
