Presenting a yummy yummy turmeric and cardamom infused mango lassi recipe to beat the heatwave in the UK.
As the next heatwave returns, I’m sure you are searching for delicious cold drink recipes you can make at home. Honestly, there is no need to spend a fortune on buying a mango lassi in a restaurant when you could just make this at home with the ingredients already on hand.
Mango lassi is made up of a few basic ingredients: Mango, Yoghurt, Milk and Sugar.
You can then add any extra additions to make it extra special.
I added turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon, saffron and pistachio plus almond shavings. Much posher than what you get in restaurants, right? 😀
Turmeric adds a wonderful yellow colour to the mango lassi cold drink and it also has numerous health benefits.

You can also add cream to make this mango lassi extra rich but I don’t like cream and we don’t want to be piling on those calories so I didn’t add it.
I’m afraid this recipe is not vegan, but you could try making it vegan by substituting the milk with plant-based milk such as almond or cashew milk, the yoghurt with vegan yoghurt and the honey or sugar with maple syrup. I really don’t know whether it would taste like the original mango lassi, but it’s the next best thing.
INGREDIENTS;
1 ripe mango
1 cup yoghurt
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp honey
Pinch of cinnamon
Pinch of cardamom
Pinch of turmeric
For Garnishing:
Saffron
Crushed almond and pistachio

METHOD:
Cut the mango into small pieces.
Add the mango, yoghurt, milk, honey, cinnamon, cardamom and turmeric to your blender and blend.
Pour into your glass and garnish with saffron and the crushed almonds and pistachios. You can also add a mint leaf.

About 10 minutes to prepare and 5 minutes to make and serve.
I made my mango lassi and kept it in the fridge to cool down. It tastes best cold x
