My Ashwagandha Moon Milk Tea was a hit!
I have been super busy for the last three months preparing for exhibitions and I haven’t had a chance to breathe. I’ve finally reached the point I’ve prepared for for so long and I have to say, this is my most exciting part of the year so far 🙂
Two weeks ago, I exhibited my products at my first fair, The Speciality Food Fair, at the Olympia.
It was a wonderful fair and I got to meet some lovely people, both buyers and fellow exhibitors. Infact, I have an exciting giveaway collaboration coming up so keep an eye out for that!
This exhibition was a little extra special for me because my ashwagandha moon milk was selected to be featured on the “Back To Basics” panel.
The talented chef, Steve Walpole, created a lovely bread and butter pudding using my ashwagandha moon milk and in all honesty, it was to die for.
The idea behind the Back to Basics panel was to showcase that we can use all natural ingredients to create wonderful recipes. And sometimes, all it takes is a bit of creativity to create something delicious using the ingredients you already have.
The chef created a lovely yellow bread and butter pudding from the ashwagandha moon milk which has turmeric, ashwagandha, rose petals and several spices in it. He then poured it over the bread, baked in the oven and covered it with a delicious pistachio flavoured Turkish delight sauce.
I had a chance to speak about how I adapted this recipe from the original moon milk recipe in Ayurveda and transformed it into a tea that helps me when I’m stressed or struggling to sleep.
The active ingredient Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that naturally helps the body cope with stress and anxiety and can lure one to sleep.
The original moon milk recipe in Ayurveda comprises of ashwagandha, rose petals and spices.
I have been an entrepreneur for over 10 years now and it has been an incredibly stressful journey. I had sought out ways to deal with this kind of stress including yoga, meditation, walks in the park and I also came across ashwagandha. Ashwagandha has been used in India for many years and is thought to aid with stress, anxiety and insomnia. I started looking for recipes that use ashwagandha and came across the wonderful moon milk recipe.
Over time, I adapted it to include a few more ingredients such as turmeric and other spices. I found that every time I was stressed or losing sleep, my immunity would be quite low as well. Turmeric is thought to boost immunity and it made sense to add it to this wonderful sleep time tea as well.
This ashwagandha moon milk tea is a lovely sleep time drink that works so well for me especially when I’m feeling overwhelmed and unable to sleep.
Following the panel, I had some wonderful feedback and spoke to a lovely lady Jade, who then bought my ashwagandha tea too 🙂
It’s so fulfilling when life brings wonderful things your way especially when you have really put the work into it. I have another two exhibitions that I’m looking forward to over the next two weeks and can’t wait to share all the exciting things that happen with you 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend ahead! 😀
